1. What is Underground Fitness Revolution?
Underground Fitness Revolution specializes in high-intensity total-body metabolic group fitness coaching workouts for busy people. Our high-intensity total-body metabolic resistance training workouts are designed to get you in the best shape of your life regardless of your current fitness level. Our program includes top notch group fitness coaching, instruction, education and motivational training while using a mix of “conventional” and “non-conventional” fitness tools and techniques including body-weight exercises, resistance bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, TRX Suspension Trainers, sandbags, battling ropes, Valslides, sleds and more!

2. When are High-Intensity Total-Body Metabolic Resistance Training Workout Classes Offered? What Does Each Class Consist of?
Underground Fitness Revolution’s high-intensity total-body metabolic workout sessions run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as scheduled. We also offer a Monthly Mud Run Training class that runs on Tuesday and Thursday as scheduled (Available January – April and August – November). We offer a convenient training location in the City of Alachua. Below is a list of our current training sessions:

Arrival Time: Each fitness coach will arrive on location and open the doors 10 minutes before the official start of the workout. This is a time to discuss any questions, comments or concerns with the on-site fitness trainer before the start of the workout.

Please know that our main focus is keeping our members safe and healthy. Thus, each class begins with a complete, state-of-the-art warm-up emphasizing tissue quality, corrective exercises, core work, mobility and activation to best prevent unwanted injury and to allow for a more effective workout. Thus, late arrivals will not be allowed to train without a proper warm-up. Members who are chronically tardy will be subject to membership suspension or termination on a case-by-case basis.

Departure Time: Each fitness coach will remain for an extra 10-15 minutes following the completion of each session to address any remaining personal questions or concerns.

Members are also highly encouraged to use this time to perform their post-workout routine consisting of corrective stretching and self-massage to best prevent nagging aches and pains and reduce soreness between workouts. However, this program caters to busy professionals, and we do understand if you need to leave immediately at the end of each workout. In this case, members are expected to perform their post-workout routines at another time for best results.

3. I Have Never Worked Out Before and/or I Have Injuries and/or I Am Extremely Overweight. Can I Still Join Underground Fitness Revolution?
Absolutely! No participant will be left behind or asked to complete more than they are capable of doing safely. It would be extremely irresponsible for us to do otherwise. We specialize in exercise modifications so that a beginner or advanced member can workout within their fitness level. There may be a rare case where this isn’t the best program for some people in their current state.

Underground Fitness Revolution specializes in providing challenging workouts for people at any level and at the same time. A 66-year-old with joint, knee or back issues can work side-by-side with a 26-year-old athlete in the same group and both will be challenged at their own fitness level.

We specialize in exercise modifications so that a beginner or advanced member can workout within their fitness level:

Level I – Beginner

Level II – Intermediate

Level III – Advanced

4. Will I Experience Muscle Soreness?
Yes. The initial phase of adding resistance training to your exercise program will cause muscle soreness. And because we change our training programs every four weeks to keep your body from adapting, you may experience new muscle soreness each time. To help with muscle soreness, we provide Self-Myofascial Release (SMR) and Corrective Stretching Strategies before (and after) every session as well as nutritional guidelines and pre- and post-workout supplementation recommendations to help your body recover from intense workouts.

5. How Soon Will I See Results?
Your results will vary based on your commitment to your training and nutrition program. In addition to not missing training sessions, you’ll need to follow a fat-burning nutritional plan to reach your goals. Members can feel great results in as short as one week and see visual changes within a few weeks. Many of our members lose 3-10 pounds and 1-4 inches in the first month. Some have lost more than 20lbs in less than three months and more than 40lbs in six months. In order to see maximal results, you will need to adhere to our nutritional program and attend all workouts.

6. Is There a Nutrition Program Involved?
Yes! The most important component of any fat-loss program is nutrition. We provide all members with our Underground Nutrition Guidelines. Our goal is not to overwhelm, but rather to ease you into adopting healthier dietary habits for long-term success.

In addition, we provide you with the tools to get started on the right track toward a complete health and fitness transformation. We also provide you with done-for-you meal plans and additional nutrition information to help you reach your goals.

7. Isn’t Steady-State Cardio Better for Fat Burning?
Research and real-world experience show that steady-state cardio (aerobic training typically performed for 30 minutes or longer at a slow-to-moderate intensity) doesn’t burn as much body fat or calories, doesn’t raise your metabolism after training and doesn’t build muscle mass or strength like metabolic resistance training.

Although steady-state cardio training can be a part of a general health and fitness program, it doesn’t provide the same benefits as metabolic resistance training, cardio strength training, or high-intensity interval training. In addition, without the components of nutrition and metabolic resistance training, you will not build lean muscle (which turns your body into a fat-burning machine).

We provide every member with metabolic-boosting training programs that don’t require traditional steady-state cardio (jogging, biking, stairclimber, elliptical, etc.). Our metabolic resistance training programs include all the cardio you’ll need to increase your metabolism, burn fat, build muscle AND remain healthy and fit.

8. Will I Get Enough Individual Attention During the Group Fitness Coaching Sessions?
Yes! Our small group fitness coaching format allows us to get to know you and give more personal service unlike large boot camps, gyms or health clubs that have many clients and treat you like a number. You will get all the coaching, motivation, guidance, instruction, education and support that you need.

We are ALWAYS here to answer any questions or concerns about anything related to your training, nutrition or supplementation. Most one-on-one personal training sessions consist of the trainer and client just spending most of the time talking about their personal lives and the trainer wastes even more time counting reps.

9. Will You Yell At Us?
Yes, there will be yelling involved – but only in a motivating and healthy manner and to provide instruction and correction. We don’t abuse, harass or degrade – we provide positive reinforcement and encouragement. And, of course, a few good jokes and fun.

10. What Do I Bring to Underground Fitness Revolution?
A positive attitude and a willingness to work hard and challenge yourself to get better each and every time you train. We provide all the equipment you’ll need for training. We recommend that you bring a towel and refillable water bottle (and shaker cup for your pre- and post-workout drink). For greater success and at-home workouts on “off” days, we ask that every member make the one-time investment in a foam roller and tennis ball while using our at-home recovery and regeneration program during “off” days and Recovery Weeks.

11. What Do I Wear to Underground Fitness Revolution?
Wear comfortable, soft, breathable materials. Avoid anything too big and baggy – it makes it difficult to properly analyze your posture and positioning during exercise so we can best assess your form and technique and make the necessary corrections. Wear athletic shoes like Nike Free, Vibram Five Fingers or running shoes with soles that are low to the ground (no platform-like soles or “shape-up” shoes with rounded bottoms).

12. What If I Can’t Make a High-Intensity Total-Body Metabolic Resistance Training Session?
We will provide you with easy-to-follow workouts you can complete at home on “off” days, during “recovery weeks,” and when you are away on vacation. This is a monthly membership-based fitness program. ALL sessions must be used within the month. Unused sessions DO NOT carry over to the next month even if you miss a session due to work, travel, sickness, etc.

13. I Notice You Bill Monthly, Can I Start in the Middle of a Month or Do I Have to Wait?
No, you cannot join in the middle of a session. All new members must be assessed prior to joining. We do this to keep you safe and to be fair to our current members. We are sticklers for proper exercise technique, and that’s something we go over during the assessment. This keeps you safe and allows you to transition seamlessly into the flow of our fitness program.

14. How is This Different Than Those Other Group Fitness Programs?
First and foremost, we provide professional fitness coaching. We don’t stand around counting reps or asking you how your weekend was while you’re in the middle of an exercise. We watch and critique exercise technique and provide exercise modifications as needed. Our goal is to teach you proper form and technique and help you progress to more challenging exercises as your abilities increase.

We also have an indoor facility with a ton (literally) of equipment including kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, resistance bands, sleds, battling ropes and more. This is one of the biggest things that separates Underground Fitness Revolution from the typical group fitness class or boot camp that doesn’t use equipment and may only be held outdoors or makes clients run around for an hour performing exercises not yet ideal for an overweight or out-of-shape member.

We provide our 12-month members with our Underground Member Manual. This is a road map to your fat loss and fitness success. All you have to do is follow it. It includes our Underground Nutrition Guidelines, our fat-blasting done-for-you-meal plans, training information and a lot more! All other memberships include our Welcome Packet that includes important training and nutrition information while you train with us. We also provide workouts that you can perform on your own with no equipment during “recovery weeks” or when enjoying time off for vacation.

We restrict the size of our training sessions to 12-15 members. This allows us to get to know you better and give more personal service unlike large boot camps, gyms or health clubs that have many clients and treat you like a number. You will get all the coaching, motivation, guidance, instruction and support that you need.

We work hard to give you more than any other gym, fitness center, group fitness program or boot camp offers at an affordable price while helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.

15. How Often Can I Attend?
For the best results, we suggest that you attend 3 days a week. But you can still achieve incredible results with our two-day-per-week package. After all, two days is better than nothing. See our memberships and rates HERE!

16. Can I Pay Per Workout or Just When I Come?
No. Underground Fitness Revolution is a monthly membership-based program and all group fitness coaching classes require a 3-month or 12-month minimum commitment with membership packages ranging from two or three times each week.

The fact of the matter is that you need and want to exercise consistently to get results, right? We’ve found that the second best motivator is knowing that you are consistently paying for your monthly membership. The best motivator is knowing that you’re going to have a ton of fun once you get here and meet your new friends for another life-changing training session!

17. What Else Do I Need to Know?
We conduct training classes in groups of up to 12-15 members. This allows us to get to know you and give more personal service unlike large boot camps, gyms or health clubs that have many clients and treat you like a number. We provide top notch fitness coaching, instruction, education, support and motivation to get you in your best shape ever. And unlike a traditional health club, you won’t experience intimidation, overcrowding and broken down equipment.

Each session typically lasts 45 minutes including a comprehensive warm-up. Groups consist of individuals of all levels and physical capabilities. Everyone works together to achieve huge gains for every individual.

Your professional fitness coaching and motivational training classes cost a third of the average personal training session.
